Here is the “A” section of the famous Scott Joplin rag , “The Entertainer”.

Rags are built of four sections that are performed in a specific sequence – AABBACCDD. This lesson gives the music and tab for the “A” section (the one everyone recognizes!) of my own guitar arrangement of The Entertainer.

It’s in drop-D tuning, so you’ll need to drop your low E string down a whole step to the D that is one octave below the fourth string’s open D.

I suggest starting to learn the actual theme of the tune first that starts at bar 5. You can then add the 4 bar introduction later; it’s not difficult and by the time you start learning the intro, you’ll know what the heck you are introducing!
